I am having a NIGHTMARE trying to get my e320 1994 coupe on a 6,000 mile classic policy. I have tried the following:
1. Lancaster - model does not show on there list of vehicles depite having CE 300 (1990-1993) and E220 (1994-95) 4DR AND ESTATES, and also a SL500(1994).

2. ROADSURE - not 15 years old

3. SWINTON - £1200

4. PETER BEST - £450

I don't have a no claims discount as I was previously on a classic policy. The car seems to be off most classic car lists. ARRRGH!

Any ideas?

Try More Than. I have third party etc for £230 pa on a 1995 320 Coupe. Live in SW London too!
Sometimes the "specialists" are not cheap at all! Lancaster quoted me £1250 for my SL. Privilige were £500.

I'm £241 fully comp with only 1 years no claims bonus with DirectChoice. It's just a normal policy, 12,000 miles a year.

Try confused.com and see the differences in quotes

Hi,
I am insured with Barry Grainger on an 300SL @ £132.00 fully comp, limited mileage, agreed value, well worth a call.
They advertise in most classic car mags they are in the Tonbridge, Kent area.
Give em a try

I asked Lancaster if they could change their policy.
As always 'computer says no.'

Following advice from this post I have gone for Firebond and am paying £350.
This seems more than what some of you have been able to get, but they were the cheapest and that is what counts.

Also please bare in mind that I get 6,000 miles, I am only (!) 30, the car will be kept outside, and that I have six points following a SP30 and the increadulous crime of crossing a white line at an empty roundabout junction!

Well in life all is avoidable except death, taxes, rediculous traffic offences and having a nightmare finding insurance...

Thanks for your help, Ed
