E320 misfire

I have an 1996 w210 E320 with 129k with FSH. On start up the engine is very smooth, but when the engine reaches normal running temp it develops a misfire both on tick over and when driving. However when stationary in park, if you raise the rpm over 2000 rpm it seems to run smoothly again. Any thought would be greately appreciated. Thanks John

when were the spark plugs last changed??

Hi, i changed them about 400 miles ago, thinking that this may sort the problem but joy. Cheers

ive know the coil packs to go down

Before coil packs i would be checking the plug leads.
