Hi,

My rear drivers light bulb went the other day, only thing is it was fine, also the internal dashboard lights and the other internal lights plus my rear license plate lights dont work. So I checked the fuses and sure enough the number 3 fuse had gone that controls these. Well I changed it and the same thing happened within seconds. Is this a common fault with this car? its a 1994 E320 Coupe.

thanks,

Alex.

Check all bulbs are the correct ones fitted.......it has been known where a single contact bulb has been (unintentionally) used when it should be a double contact, and visa-versa. Such an action can cause the fuse to blow.

if all the above fail, remove every bulb on that curcuit, replace one by one until fuse blows and that will narrow down you search, keep us updated, shouldnt be hard to trace fault!

I tried the bulbs before So i took it to an Auto Electrics that I use with other cars and he fixed the problem, there was some cradle in the boot that controlled all those lights and the boot light where all the wires had broken and were shorting off each other, he fixed it all for £30.

Thanks for the reply's!
