I have an E320cdi W210 estate. The rear wiper has stopped working and there appears to be no live feed to the motor. All fuses have been checked and all ok. I have been told that there is most likely to be a broken cable caused by long term use of the tailgate and that I have to remove the head lining in the rear off-side area. Please can someone help me with information as to how to remove the rear headlining? Keith

I can only print it off later in the day, on your late car the wiper is controlled by the PSE pump

Does this mean that it may not be an 'electrical' fault ?....sorry but my knowledge in these things is very limited if not non-existent :)

There is electrical power to the switch on the dashboard as the light on the switch illuminates. The rear washer works ok, but no power to the wiper directly from the switch on the dash or from the reverse gear selector position when front wipers are turned on

Many many thanks for sending the information to me....very much appreciated:D
However, on first sight the removal of the entire headlining looks extremely daunting and probably well beyond my level of expertise. You had previously made reference to the 'PSE'. Would I be right in saying that the power from the dashboard switch transfers to the PSE module and then in turn to the wiper motor?......if this is true then there may well NOT be a break in a cable as previously suggested to me, but a fault with the PSE module itself. Am I right in my thinking? According to the diagrams that you have kindly sent me the 'PSE module' appears to be located above the headlining in the vicinity of the driver's door (I have a RHD....I think the picture depicts a LHD). Do I have to remove the headlining in it's entirety to locate this module?

I am well aware that it is Sunday afternoon and apologise for encroaching on your time yet again......kind regards...Keith

Hello again, first never attempt to take down all the lining, that is a specialist job. You would only need to release the part in the area that you need to the back in this case.

The PSE pump is under the rear seat or in the rear side panels. It could well just be a broken wire as you first thought. This evening I will look to see if any better information to help with your problem.

Many thanks again......the lining in the rear top left quarter is separate to the rest of the lining and has in turn 2 other sections. One small section adjacent to the rear offside window and another about 12" long which pops out and houses some sort of ribbon....very unsure as to what this is for. Still don't know how to remove the lining in this vicinity though.
