E320 with 722.6 Autobox - Oil Leaks

Hi,

My E320 W210 had a transmission rebuild by a professional automatic specialist. Unfortunately they were a victim of the recession last year.

I took the car to another specialist who fitted a new electrical switch and 'o' rings to the 722.6 but when I got it home I still found oil leaking.
I am getting a bit fed up with this now. The car has not done a huge milegage since the box was rebuilt and should not be leaking.

Does anyone have any first hand knowledge on what might be causing this?

I am assuming it is not anything stupid like the oil pan gasket, as this was checked about 6 months ago and the oil and filter was changed as a precaution 1000 miles after the rebuild.

Thanks,

John

Its hard to pin point over internet, but it could be the gasket. or the drain plug, or poss last person who did the job last tightened the switch seal conector to tight and stripped/ snapped it off internally. need looking at asap.

Easiest to run it up a high kerb somewhere and get underneath and have a look?

Are you sure its atf thats leaking as my wifes w203 c320 has a leak that looks like it coming from the gearbox but is actually the engine rear main seal leaking.

Not very practical though - You have to remove the underbody shield first.
Then you need to clean everything up before you can see what's going on.
Not the sort of job I would want to do lying in a gutter.

It could be the gearbox pilot bush connector that is leaking it is quite common on these gearboxes.

But again you would need to get underneath and take the undertrays off and have a look
