Just getting to know my E320CDI. On the dashboard, just to the left of the steering wheel, is a small circular 'grille', approx 3/4" in diameter. What does that do? Can't find any mention of it in the handbook. Don't believe its an important feature but just curious!

I asked the question in my MB dealer this morning, they didn't know what it was for. It is only on the E class and I still think it is to do with the heating. I've just had a search through the Russian site and come up the attached

I'm pretty sure it is part No. 25 (Ventilation Screen).
I thought the mic for the car phone kit is above the interior mirror, there is a grille up there on almost all MB's.
