Evening guys,
Little update of what was supposed to be an office day today to catch up on paperwork and other BIG exciting things for the future! However we got side tracked with a lovely E350 CDI estate in which the customer really wanted booking in for today so we boxed around his plans.
First things first I don't know how many we have done of these now and everyone is a pleasure to work on! The vehicle WAS the 265bhp model so by no means sluggish! However the GAD treatment was added and wow! It still puts a smile on our faces every time we do one!
We loved the fact it had the old school Star on the bonnet which is so nice to see again. Also had some awesome sun roof/moon roof action going on which being a white vehicle with most of the roof black from the glass made it look very stylish and a little aggressive also.
After removing the battery, jacking the car up and removing the ECU from the wheel arch (only annoying part ) we cracked the ECU open. This model runs EDC17 CP46 which is the latest Bosch management in the Mercedes diesel model range and the ECU's are well protected as far as housing quality goes.
We have been seeing on the net people taking about the latest ECU's having to be drilled and being "light" sensitive like the Bosch MED17.7.1 found in the new BiTurbo 63's which is non-sense!!! If the correct tools, knowledge and practice is used you can be in them within a matter of minutes!
Anyway she went from a respectable 265bhp - 620nm to a sharpened up 315bhp and 750nm family monster! Of course we straightened out the gearbox and data logged.
Here are the pics
Quick note the EDC17 CP46 variation requires not one but two BOOT pin outs!!!!
If you guys have any questions please feel free to comment or for bookings click here
Regards
The GAD Team
