E350 coupe 2013 door switch removal

I've noticed that my electric mirror doesn't retract first time so I guess there may be a connection problem on the main drivers door switch unit . Ive found a used one on ebay and can see there is a clip either side to hold it in but wondered if there is a nack to removing the old one . I think it can be done without removing the door panel and can see there is one socket on the underside so hopefully is straight forward to connect up ?

Any help would be appreciated thanks all in advance .

The more you use the mirror fold option the more wear there is going to be on the wires that connect to it.

it's entirely possible that one wire has become chafed or broken and that the switches etc are ok.

I can't help with the removal of the switch panel from the door except to suggest trying to identify where the lugs are then using a plastic spatula to jiggle them free.
