I have recently changed to a w212 e350 with comand and I can only get the Bluetooth to work with the phone for telephone calls on my iPhone 7.

I was wondering if there was a way to upgrade the system or change some settings to enable audio to stream.

Many thanks in advance

John

Good choice you should be pleased with your purchase.

I'm not sure regarding your particular model of command, I don't stream music but prefer to use the card and USB sticks.

You normally have to add the phone separately to stream or use the access port which on my prior car was in the arm rest you will need the specific Mercedes data lead.

Command Online are the people to contact.

Someone who knows what they are talking about may be along soon.

Thank you for the link, I was hoping to do any adjustment myself. I like to listen to pod casts but the phone is not recognised when plugged in the the glovebox lead, im assuming the phone is too new for it.

It would be ideal if I. An get both phone and audio streaming working on Bluetooth

Thanks John

Try contacting Command Online, they are very helpful and most likely will have the answer.

It may be that an update is needed to your software.

There is an option to enable bluetooth audio in the engineer menu, but I am not sure exactly where as it is already enabled on mine. Default should be on if I was to have a guess. I am not going to give advice as to how to get in that menu as it is a place where you can fluff up some stuff with comand, so if you decide to do it do some reaseach yourself.

I'm not sure it can be done. My 2013 212 couldn't and neither can my 2015, it has to be tethered via the lead in the central armrest . And if the lead has the iPhone 5 connector don't be tempted to use an eBay Chinese adaptor it won't work. Buy the apple one fr c£25. Otherwise it will charge your phone but not stream the media .
Alternatively a complete new lead from MB for the iPhone 7 is about £85

It is strange John how Command keeps changing, my 2014 E300 had the lead supplied with the car but my 2016 E350 does not, I do not bother streaming as the card and USB work really well.

Could it be because mine is an Edition 125 possibly?

And I should really pay attention!
Went to Audio in Comand for a laugh just now and scrolled down to BT audio, Low and behold it allowed me connect, whereas before it did not ....

Was contemplating suggesting that before, but it just felt like it was going to insult someone, especially if you had 2 w212's.

Just thought I would provide an update to how I solved the issue of getting my E350 w212 2010 with command to Bluetooth from my iPhone 7 for media, MP3 and telephone.

Firstly I spoke with a couple of specialists who provide updates to the firmware for £199, but I would need to travel to there location and wait a couple of hours for the to do the upgrade.

Luckily however I found an adapter for sale on Amazon and eBay that simply plugs in to the Mercedes command media socket in the glovebox and it works as a separate Bluetooth adapter, it's powered by the media socket and reconnects automatically every time I get in the car. Both the cars telephone Bluetooth functionality and media music players work simitaniously together and the command system displays all my music, playlists, podcasts etc on screen. This solution cost me under £79 including next day delivery.

Thanks John
