I have a 1999 E55 totally original with 113,000 miles on the clock. She's in great condition for its age. The wheels are starting to age with curb marks (from previous owner!) and bubbling (worming marks) on the face of the rims. What is the best way (and where) to get them refurbished. I don't won't to replace as I prefer to have the originals. Also on tyres, is it worth at purchasing online. They are working out at about €1200 for the set of Michelins.
Appreciate any advice.

Thanks

There are some very good finishes around these day, and the powder coating in crhrome paints is very good, the wheels will look bright and good without all of that hassle that you get with polished looks that as you say, bubbles away under the lacquer

I would always recommend checking online for tyres and fitting. I've found that I can buy tyres that way for half the price quoted by the likes of Kwik Fit.

Hi Television, thanks for the advice. Do you know of any websites that might give more detail?

Hi Brandwooddixon, thanks I will. I'll check the Northern Irish market as their VAT rates are lower, maybe better value there.

Cheers

Try googling wheel refurbishment.

Hi - if you are considering the NI try Central Tyre Service, (www.centraltyreservice.com) Belfast. I have used them for 20+ years and found them good value and great service. For alloy refurbs there is Lester Engineering (http://www.alloywheelslisburn.com/). Used them once with decent results at around £65 per wheel from memory.

Best of luck with the new car.
