Does anyone know the full A/B (full/minor) service schedule for the E55 (1999)?

Mine's on 119,000 and I believe (???) that it's due again at 120,000 - and it may be a major service??

Please help!!

Many thanks! :)

If you press the top left button on the steering wheel the car will tell you what and when.

Service

I actually collect the car next week (I've just purchased it). I am happy with the deal I got - but I'm concerned that I'm going to have to spend a lot immediately.

Does anyone here know the service schedule for the E55?

Any help much appreciated!!

Thank you!

There is no service schedule as such. The ASSYST system decides based on a number of factors how often the car needs to be serviced and whether it is a minor 'A' service or a large 'B' service. There are also age related items such as brake fluid which comes up every 2 yrs.
If you have bought from an MB dealer then if it needs servicing withing 3000 miles or 1 month they normally have it serviced. The 55 is a complex car and being an AMG the consumables (Brake pads & discs) cost more than the normal E's.
If you have bought cheaply without it being serviced, then depending upon what it needs £500-£1000 should cover a 'B' service at MB or around half of that at an Independent MB specialist.

service cost

Hi there

Many thanks for that - that's very, very useful!

One quick question - you say £500 - £1,000 approx should cover a B service. What would you expect if it were an A service?

Thank u!

A service is just a glorified oil change.

to save on costs provide your own oil, source mobil 1, alot cheaper than the dealers who charge about £14 per litre

You may want to start saving up apart from the braking system, I think you have 2 Cats on that model which may require replacing at some pont if not done already.

Mercedes Enthusiast mag quoted £1500 for the Cats but you will need to verify that for your particular year contact an independent specialist in your area if I recall there should be a thread here for them.

ouch!

£1,500? Ouch. That would hurt a lot on top of any other servicing needed. I hope they've been replaced previously! I'll have to check the history carefully (it's got a full MBSH).

Are the cats usually replaced sometime around this mileage? (119,000)

Thank u!

Not sure about replacement intervals, I found out about this as I was also looking for one, I have since decided to sit tight and save up for a 911 (993).
