Can’t really add to what others have said but I got my car from Marshalls Southampton, and had my previous one serviced there in the early years, and I wouldn’t trust a single word they say.

We do have a very well respected Indie in Southampton who are forum sponsors here. Have a look at MBS Southampton. I’m tied to Marshall’s for two years as they gave me two free services because of the errors (deceit?) when they supplied my car but I’ll certainly be using MBS after that.
Yes beginning to also feel that way. I'm awaiting full service records from MB UK but can't get until I've got the V5 doc, will update as and when.

Used to have a C63...
Went to the link that AMGreed sent me (many thanks) that recommends auto transmission oil and filter change at 31,000/3-years and strangely an option to have Brake Fluid Change at its current mileage and age, but only at customers request???.

I read that as "brake fluid changed every two years, or now if customer requests (and pays for) it"!

I'd certainly pursue your ATF change as it ain't cheap!

I picked up my E63 today , bought from an independant trader with no connection to MB.
The car was serviced yesterday and the dealer (MB-Loughton) printed off a copy of every service along with yesterdays.
Mine is a Sept 14 model and its now had its 5th service (28k miles)

The outlet you bought the car from could, and should have got copies of the service record for you before anyone viewed the car. Its one of the first things I want to see.

As above , brake fluid was changed in mine at 4 years too as well as ATF and filters
Service is annual or miles covered - I took out a service plan which turned out to be decent value

I thought Brake Fluid was every 2 years and ATF every 4

My Indy charges £250 for full flush with new filter and oil

Indie, yes... MB Plymouth wanted something ludicrous like £480!

I declined (to pay that bit), and pointed the invoice at MB Dorchester.

I paid £173 back in the spring for mine. I took it to the Honda dealer next door to the office. They used the prescribed MB oil and all seems fine so far. :)

When the oil was delivered to them it was the wrong stuff and had to wait for the correct oil. They had already drained the ATF when they found out and had to put the old oil back so I could get home. The oil change was then done the following day, so I know the correct oil was used.........I hope. :)

That's a great deal when you consider the price of the kit from MB Newcastle.

I would nearly have it done for me only I fancy a bit of faffing around and getting myself dirty..lol.

I know, all they do is plug a machine into it and it flushes it through then replaces the fluid, takes about an hour

Jam jar, bit of bunsen burner tubing, cling film, spanner; job done in minutes. :geek::rolleyes::D:cool:

Care to elaborate? :curious.

To change brake fluid you are basically emptying the old fluid and re-filling it with new.

The cling film is used over the opening on the reservoir before replacing the cap to form a seal when you put fresh fluid in. The bunsen burner tubing (gas tube) is put on the brake calliper bleed nipple to direct the fluid into the jam jar. A jam jar is used as you can see the fluid and more importantly the colour of the new fluid. A sugary drink tin like Monster / Red Bull for the younger generation, can be used in an emergency. If fresh new tube you can gob in it to put over the first nipple, thereafter the fluid will act as a lubricant. The spanner is to release the nipple to allow bleeding, then re-tightening afterwards.

Start at the furthest nipple from the reservoir then work back. A few pumps of the brake pedal is sufficient to cleanse the system. There is actually very little fluid in the system.

This is using a modern pump, bit like a Pela vs undoing the sump plug when parked over a road drain*:

* that bit is a joke btw :geek::D:cool:

Welcome! Very nice cars.

As others have said, it has missed a B service, it may just be missing from the digital record, but not the end of the world if the mileage isnt too high, just do an interim service to bring it up to date (get the dealer who supplied it to pay!)

Welcome, as said good start- I had to work my way up to that model and they are astonishing ....after a year you’ll be visiting Birmingham
Think 700 BHP and 855 lb ft torque :p

Feel free to drift across to the other side of London if you want, we can do the same :)

Welcome aboard Tony.

1. Don't trust anything an MB car salesperson tells you.
2. Brake fluid is normally changed every 2yrs as its hydroscopic.
3. Ring a different dealer, ask about ATF change requirements on your model & year, (I think they'll confirm what's been said on here), then batter the supplying dealer!
Spot on advice, include service advisor too, unfortunately when it comes to main dealer servicing these days you have to assume unless you 'know' the work has been done assume it hasn't. I wouldn't include the large number of specialists we're lucky to have in that though, most seem excellent, there can we quite large variations in their pricing however.
