Early 2016 W212 - How to turn the radio off?

Hi folks,

I took delivery of an early 2016 (manufactured in February) W212 Estate yesterday, which is fitted with an NTG5 Comand unit.

Driving home from Manchester to Bristol gave me plenty of time to get acquainted with the car and I absolutely love it. BUT having turned on the radio I now can't figure out how to turn it off. There's nothing in the vehicle or Comand manuals - they tell you how to turn it on but ......

I've tried pressing the radio button again, holding it down, turning the Comand screen off and back on and several other things that simply don't work. Does anyone know what I need to do, or is the thing faulty?

Does it change channel if requested? Does it mute if you push the mute button/turn the volume down? What happens if you press the media button?

Doesn't it switch off with the ignition?

On the S213 you just press the volume button

If you turn COMAND off, the radio should as well.
If you don't want noise then use the mute button on the steering wheel (speaker with line through it). The mute button is state sensitive, so it will mute whatever is playing sound at that moment - if navigation instructions then it will silence the navigation, if the radio then it will silence the radio etc.
The mute will be removed when you restart the car.
