Hi,

was quoted £144.00 for a diagnostic, plus £103.80 for a replacment battery, went to my local battery specialst in Batley he recognised the battery (bosch) same day replaced it for £50.00 I'm happy with that all working as before

If you need a diagnostic, I have a Foxwell Pro and am just up the hill from you. :)

while a understand that dealers or indies shouldn't be working for nothing, IMHO charging £144 for diagnostics is taking the proverbial, especially when someone else who has presumably experience of the symptoms can diagnose the fault straight away .... the fact that the battery was half the cost of the dealer is an added bonus.

That was my thought. I did the usual googling and found it was most common place like 95% most likely the start battery was kaput. And of course I was 2 weeks out of warranty arghh ! I suspect it wouldn’t have been covered , so I hope my experience can be of use

Someone mentioned on the forum the other day that the glow plug relay/glow plugs should be a replacement item on the service schedule (after all it would be if it was spark plugs) I’d certainly add the auxiliary battery onto the list but being cynical it wouldn’t bring in a £144 charge for diagnostics
