Hi peeps
I did eventually sh*ll
out 47 quid to 'MHannaford' (a member of this forum site).
For a EcoTek 26 CB....
Actualy the cheapest price I found...
I recieved and fitted the device this morning (took less than 5 minutes to install and set up) and have been testing it up till now.....
I have to admit I had my doubts ... I mean how can a small peice of Plastic and metal with a valve help my cars performance and increase MPG !!!..
Trouble is ......It WORKED.... the car definatley accelerates much better from a standing start.
I removed my K&N filter and replaced it with an OEM item for the test (just so I could see if the EcoTek worked)
After doing some driving this morining with the device shut off and with it enabled....It Works....
Im going to keep an eye on my fuel over the next couple of days and see if the MPG improves as well , It should do...
I notice that on the EcoTek Web site they recomend an FSE powerboost valve to be fitted if you want the best performance from the EcoTek device on an fuel injected car... but they do say this might reduce the MPG savings...
So I'll probably leave that mod out of my list..
Im hoping to get time to put My K&N filter back in tomorrow and see if there is any difference with both the K&N and the EcoTek ....
The only down side is that the device can get noisey , but only under Hard acceleration , or exesive reving of the engine when stationary...... You can't hear it inside the Car , only if you are brave enough to stick your head out of the window whilst pulling away quickly.
One thing to note is that its no louder than my noisy EM Fan on MY 190E... and you can get filters for them to muffle the sound......
Though 47 quid for a valve aint cheap .. it works.. and I've spent much more than that on Fuel additives over the years , Not one of them realy gave measurable improvments....like the EcoTek did straight away...
Buy the way I have No vested Interest in EcoTek... Im just amased that this little plastic and metal thing I put in my vacuum line works...
