Due to the number of failures and cost of the EGR system over the past few weeks we have made the following corrections and solutions for the below ECU's that are capable of being remapped to disable the EGR valve via software.

•BOSCH EDC16C31
•BOSCH EDC16C32
•BOSCH EDC16CP31
•BOSCH EDC16CP36
•BOSCH EDC17_CP11
•BOSCH EDC17C43
•BOSCH EDC17CP10
•BOSCH EDC17CP46
•BOSCH ME9.7

These are of course just the ECU types however a full list will be posted with engines and models very very soon.

Regards

Please be aware...

This is visual inspection ONLY the DPF physically has to be seen.

Not 3-4 Hours removal and check. The physical DPF MUST be in place IE no straight PIPE.

Luckily enough for members we have done this for years. An have our new sports DPF systems ready and awaiting testing over the next few weeks.

If dpf removal still poses an issue to you we have just released our sports dpf system much the same as sports cats. Sports dpf units will cost more than removal however it will prevent a blocked dpf and still give the improvments similar to removal if not the same. However software will still be a requirement due to the pressure difference.

According to MOT rep I was talking to today the 2015 plans are for the DPF to be actually tested if it is not the factory issued one or a factory repacement it will fail the test. This is proposed also with a increase in the cost of the test.

We have confirmation from VOSA and the thetford training centre that this IS VISUAL INSPECTION ONLY.

As said our sports dpf is now avalible if you are worried about removal.

To test the dpf would be to see if it meets emissions regulation this is an MOT. The MOT tests the road worthyness of a vehicle to insure it is fit for the road. This includes an emissions test. As said we have confirmation from VOSA that this is visual inspection ONLY.

So you will break the law and convince people its ok ,2015 proposed rules are different to the rules coming into force in 2014 it as agreed is only a visual inspection so you propose the illegal action of fitting an empty DPF chamber.Notifying your insurance company of any modifications made is mandatory,

Im sorry but this is outrageous, This is our business we know the regulations and rules of this matter in fine detail. We have all the paperwork relating to this issue as per VOSA and Test center training department. We have other methods ie sports DPF systems if you are that concerned. You must remember a vehicle with a software upgrade is PROVEN to produce less harmful outputs than with a DPF. The test once again is VISUAL INSPECTION so as long as a pass is issued this MOT certificate means your vehicle has passed all inspection and emission's tests and your vehicle is fully road worthy.

Please if you feel so inclined to pursue this and want info or advise please email us directly instead of posting on a topic unrelated to the subject.

We strongly feel you are just attempting to cause trouble and cause a fuss.

Kind Regards

Clearly you don't know the rules and regulations of this matter in fine detail. You should be advising your customers they run the risk a £1000 fine if they have the DPF removed/mapped out due to the vehicle being illegal for road use.

This is nothing to do with VOSA or the MOT test. At present if you remove or disable the DPF as long as it looks to be physically there, then there is no reason for the car to fail on emissions; provided the car passes the smoke test. The tester will be non the wiser as to weather the DPF is operating or not.

It is regarding the The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations Act 1986 of which disabling the DPF contravenes.

Here is the quote from the gov.uk site:

"It is an offence under the Road vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations (Regulation 61a(3)) to use a vehicle which has been modified in such a way that it no longer complies with the air pollutant emissions standards it was designed to meet. Removal of a DPF will almost invariably contravene these requirements, making the vehicle illegal for road use. The potential penalties for failing to comply with Regulation 61a are fines of up to £1,000 for a car or £2,500 for a light goods vehicle."

and what happens if it is modified in such a way that it still complies with the emissions standards? Surely a sports DPF, much like a sports CAT is a legitimate fitting? Also, the wording says that DPF removal "will almost invariably contravene these requirements" this means that it is not a guaranteed outcome of a fail.
