EGR valve

Hi. I'll just preface this with saying I know nothing about cars!! However my Mercedes 350cls (2011) needs a new EGR valve. The mercedes specialist garage I went to (not a dealership) ordered the part in Oct and I am still awaiting its arrival. Is this common at the moment (to wait just under 5 months)? Or can I get the part quicker elsewhere?

Did you have someone give it a proper clean 50 % chance it might clear it if clogged. Or try the likes of auctions. Ex
