Hi,
I’m hoping somebody might able to provide me with some thoughts and perhaps a solution to enable me to cure the issues l’m having with the electric roof on my car, a 2001 CLK230. The car has suffered from several problems in this area in the past and the help provided in the past on this website has been invaluable, especially from ‘Television’ who’s maps, photos, wiring diagrams and information are been invaluable.
Having checked the more obvious items such as fuses, relays, the roof ECU switches and earths I took the car to a independent Mercedes garage to have it checked on a Star code reader to be told the ECU shows no faults but he was unsure if the limit switches should be open or closed. The check took two hours £144 and he said he could continue but the price was going to be pretty high, and he seemed to indicate from the tone in his voice that the car was hardly worth the money being spent. What l was hoping was that somebody could tell me where these five? limit switches are positioned and what readings (continuity) should there be with the roof in various positions.
At present the windows drop but there is no movement or sound from the motor or pump the head restraints are also dead in their lowest position.
Sorry to ramble on but there seems to be so many problems with the system. Any help anybody could provide would be much appreciated.
