Electric seat controls

1992 300SL 74,000 miles

The panels inserted into the doors which hold the electric seat controls have come away. They still work perfectly but are loose and move. Can anybody suggest a method of fixing them-I presume they are ordinarily fixed from within the door panel-which might not include having completely to remove the door panel.
