After my car come back from repair (replaced the MAF)

I noticed that the driver side seat is mal-function.

What I mean by that is when i want it forward, it goes back, up and it may go down, tilt front, it might goes back.

Now the problem is, it does not neccessary do the opposite but all over the place. And you can never guess what movement it will do next wnhen you push the button.

The passener side is fine..

Any one experienced that and any quick fix?

Thanks

Joe

Hi,
Never come across a fault like this but i feel it must be a faulty seat switch, does the switch (when operating) feel as "positive" as the passenger side?

Hi,
The only thing this can be IMO is the switch.
Just a thought, does your car have memory seats?

Dont you have to run them right to the end of their travel in each direction and hold the switch there for at least 5 secs for the seat to relearn?
Same with the windows etc

Hi,
There is a reset procedure, but i believe it only applies to vehicles fitted with memory hence my question.

W210 seat malfunction

Ive got W210 of 1998 with both memory seats.
Today the passenger seat started malfunctioning. I had the backrest taken down all the way earlier in the day, and when I wanted to get it up again it went up only 3/4 of the way and stopped there.
It does travel up and down now but the upper end position is not what I need.

Is there a reset for this?
Removing the battery for 5 minutes or sth?
Some kind of button combination to restore?

Well, I can answer myself.
It has to be put down at the very end of the range. For that reason I had to remove the bottom part of the rear bench. The beckrest went until the very end and then it could go up higher.
