Hello everyone

I don't if any one has had this problem, for the first time i decided to adjust the steering on my 300 se. After itwas fully extended it failed to go back in towards the Dashboard! yikes ...how do i fix it?

I have checked the power to the switch that is all fine and obviously the fuse still intact. My guess is the motor that sits on the steering unit may be knackered? it did move very slowly and did stall at first atempt on extracting out.

Is this problem repairable? or from now on do i drive the MB badge on the steering wheel very close to my chest?

please help! anyone!

I have also tried to listen carefully to the motor having taken off the lower panels and i can hear a static sound everytime the switch is pushed forward or backwards. Looking at it from any angle it seems extensive work is required to remove the motor?

any suggestions i have never taken a dashboard of w126 apart before or even get under to fiddle around with the wires.
