Electric Windows

I have this little problem with the electric windows, first of all the front passenger side wouldnt work then after a while the drivers side front and rear wont work either I have checked the fuses which seem fine anything else I should check (1998 C250TD Elegance)

Try a search for 'Electric windows'. It could be that you need to do a reset
You'll find out how to do that with a search also
You may have to disconnect the battery and then reconnect it. Then hold
the button all the way down and hold, then all the way up and hold (something
like that anyway).
Another known problem I think is the switch block. I'd start with the no cost
options first though.

Switches are prone to dirt entering them, the position does not help. stand outside the car, aim your remote at the (interior mirror for flick out key, or small square window in the drivers handle for new electronic remote)..press and hold the lock button for 4-5 seconds - car locks and all windows/sunroof should attempt to close.....now press and hold the (unlock) button - the car should unlock and all 4 windows should open (not the sunroof if it is already closed (obvious reasons..snow etc)
This will show you if the windows or switches are u/s.
If the windows are still not working have a look at the ecu hidden behind the battery in the boot (older flick out key type), is it wet?? (common occurance) if not give it a tap while working the windows. If the newer type all the doors have their own ecu inside the door you will need to visit a dealer for a Startest.

To reset the windows (newer cars) hold the switch on its first (manual) position fully up, pause then fully down (no stopping) this resets the automatic (second position) of the windows (tells the ecu the window top and bottom position)
