electrical faults

i have just bought a 2002 e 320cdi and have a few niggles with it, firstly the interior light doesn't come on when you open the tailgate also the rear wiper
doesn't work but the washer does,the light comes on the switch if that helps
next are the headlamp washers they don't work i presume they are siezed but could do with a few pointers as to how easy or difficult these would be to fix by someone with a basic knowledge of mechanics. I'm sure my list will get bigger as i get to know the car.

I take it that your vehicle is an estate, is this correct?

Check that the interior light working on the tailgate hasn't been set to not come on. This can be done by use of the interior light switch.

It's possible that the electrical feed to the back has broken at the hinge. Check for positive feed with a multimeter or bulb tester.

Headlamp washers usually only work with lights on, plus I believe that there's a seperate bottle for their water supply.

I have a few instruction and papers for the 202 washers, and I can print off the rear wiper details later in the day.

If the rear washer is working, then the power is getting to the wiper, as the washer takes its power from that
