Electrically Folding Door Mirror Forced to Un-Fold by hand!!!

Hi all,
I have a W210.010/605.912 E250 D (1995)
The door mirrors are electrically folding. Last night some idiot tried to un-fold the driver's mirror by hand.
In the attached photos you can see his achivement. The mirror can partially fold with the electric motor. Is there a way to fix it my self?
Has anybody experienced something similar ?
Can anybody give me a guide how to remove the cover and how to fix it?
I do not dare to push it to fold by hand because I am afraid it might broke completely...

They normally re engage by holding down the switch in the open or closed position, but something does look wrong on the 3rd picture

It is secured by a strong spring and you should be able to manouvre it back in place by hand --unless of course its broken?
