Is there a simple way of disabling electronic brake assist without affecting all the other gizmos?

A couple of times now I've hit the brake a little swiftly then off but have continued braking for a split second and I don't like the experience. I am happy that in any sphincter-troubling situations I will be able to press the brake peddle quite hard enough on my own.

Thanks.

Hahahahaha... horrible isn't it !! There's that dreadful 'I'm not in control... what the f... is this car doing moment'

I hate brake assst.... I also hate 'brake by wire'

Mercedes have never 'quite' got it right (have never atmitted it of course) but after years of tinkering and honing to imperfection they have now decided that their new generation of vehicles will go back to standard hydraulic braking systems!! If that isn't admission of defeat I don't know what is !!

Interesting - I hadn't heard that. I find the SBS hold feature good but yes I've been caught out by the BAS too. Quiet road, 25 mph, saw a kid run out, momentarily stabbed the brake but the kid shot into the next door drive ... too late, loud shreak from the tyres and pedal dropped to the floor. I've never actually needed it in anger.
