Warning light came up on friends Volvo V70 T5.

Like me - no idea what it means - is is serious/the car driveable or a straight round to the garage job?

Any guidance is very much appreciated.

Could be the lambda sensor. It measures O2 out of the exhaust. Then again, there are valves and sensors on the emmission systems and any could be out. Treat it as an engine management system light, the end result is the same, plug in a diagnostic computer.

I had a manky old Volvo 440 as a sort of hack when I was working away in West Sussex - the Lamda sensor was up in the air and the car ran like and absolute bucket of nails.

Think will suggest that the V70 goes straight on the computer for good measure - can imagine it may be easy to do some expensive damage.

Thanks for the advice, JB.
