Eml light after emissions recall

Hi there anyone got any ideas please.
Took my 2009 c250 for emissions recall vehicle had no warning lights displayed when vehicle was dropped off went to collect and the amber eml light was displayed went back in and service manager said they would run a diagnostic report was informed my dpf was blocked and was unable to regen now am told my dpf needs replacing at a cost of £1250.00 and this was just a coincidence the light came on also asked for the diagnostic report but was told there wasn't one available car also got a free health check and came back as all good have I been done by mercedes.

I would ask the question why was it not checked before the update was applied?
I'd also ask for a printout of the codes.

Finally why can they not force a regen?

Out of curiosity what's your mileage?

No but it sounds as if you're being done by the dealership! It would take exceptional circumstances for a DPF to fill to levels >100% inhibiting an auto Regen in the short time in which they've had the car, I would be first of all getting my scanner on the car to see just exactly what fault codes have been thrown up if they claim they don't have any records? I mean what sort of garage doesn't save diagnostic records in such circumstances. I would also start to save copies of all records and communications with them confirming everything by an E Mail.

Hi mate currently 91000 fsh was told car wouldn't regen

Replacing a dpf wont. change the issue the car wont do a regen.

A regen is controlled by more than thr dpf which if anything will provide fill levels

Something not right. Get another opinion

Think blobcat has brought this issue and the cause up before on basis of dealers creating revenue. Sure to be corrected shortly?
