Not sure if this is the right section but here goes.

P reg 1997 E230 estate. The exhaust fumes stink and I am not sure where to start to rectify it. There is no smell coming in the car just a fumy smell when standing behind it with the engine running.

Any help appreciated

Possible coming from the catalytic converter ..very common on earlier cars...kinda like rotten eggs??..

No not a rotten egg smell,I've had that befor but its more of a engine smell

The air is dense and moisture laden right now,,this can make a difference
