I have a 320 CLK on a 52 plate, V6 i had an automatic problem yesterday and wish to check the oil level in the gearbox, ive made a dipstick from curtain wire, and marked off 4 points one at 8mm 19mm - 54mm and 66mm...

now the question is this, the engine cover, i have read its a pull off job, as its held by clips, i have just had a look at my engine cover, and at the flywheel end the first say 8 inches seems to be hinge like, and separate from the large cover body.. i dont want to snap any thing off, have you any info on removal, i also notice two air intake pipes attach to the cover also, they look like push fit.. any one got a tip as to how i take the cover / covers off. Thanks
