I have a CLK 55 amg on a 51 plate. whilst driving yesterday i lost all power and the engine went completely dead. After leaving it 20 mins it started no problem and appeared to be fine. This morning exactly the same thing happened again engine completely cut out whilst driving, left 10 mins and then starts no problem. It's telling there are no malfunctions. The onlt thing that I have notticed is engine temerature seems higher than normal but still below 3/4. Oil and water levels are fine. When the engine cut out the BAS light comes on.
Anyone had this problem before or any idea what it might be?

Cheers

Thanks very much Malcom, would this be easy to DIY? Is the car safe to drive?
