Engine cuts out when slowing down to junction /traffic lights

Have a 2007 c clas 220 cdi

Starting to have a problem with the engine cutting out.

Starts fine, then after 5 /10/15 mins if you come to a junction or traffic lights as you slow down it will cut out.
All dash board lights remain on.

It starts without issue.

Any thoughts

Sounds like a Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS) they usually fail when the engine gets hot

But ........ they need time to cool down before they start working again.
