- CLK 230 KOMPRESSOR AUTO 2001
Hi, any help would be greatly appreciated.
My car is a 2001 CLK 230 kompressor.
About 3 months ago the engine light came on but I kept driving the car until one day I noticed a loss of power, I restarted the car and the problem went away but I felt we should get it checked out so I took it to a garage that has the star / merc diagnostics machine, they gave me a report (attached) and mentioned the o2 sensor and the gearbox conductor plate would likely need changing. They didn't have time to change the parts as it was just before Christmas so they only did the machine diagnosis. I mentioned to them that the O2 sensors had already been changed (as I initially felt this may be the issue) but they mentioned one may have been provided faulty, they said they did not know which one was faulty but when I told them (after a google search) the fault code on the report refers to the front sensor they said "oh well that's the one then". We then changed the front 02 sensor again (bosh brand) but after about 10 miles of driving the engine light came on again today. As you can imagine, due to their uncertainty I wanted to get another opinion. Does anyone think from the attached report that the gearbox conductor plate is the likely issue or could this be something else. The car currently starts and drives fine but the engine light is still on.
Thanks in advance for any assistance and best wishes for the new year to everyone.
Just to to reiterate, this was diagnosed with a merc diagnostics / star machine
