engine management light

has just came on ,in my c240 estate ,any ideas fellas

just had new starter on a week ago but now seams like its abit rough since


now sice thats been done when i come to a stand still at traffic lights or something it sometimes feels like its reving at standstill not offen but its does maybe 1 to 3 times a day now

ould be a blocked CAT or O 2 sensor, best to get the codes read out

Theres not really a lot which puts the light on apart from airmass sensor (common on 270) Crank sensor or a missfire on one of the pots due to a lead or two breaking down!

I was thinking too, is this something that the guys disturbed when they did the starter

Theres the inlet port shut of motor near the starter, that would put the light on, massive loss of power to go with it!

but ive had the repair nearly 2 weeks ago so wouldnt happen as soon as i used it

Something may have been removed and not connected securely you never know

i had similar issues, my code reader showed a misfire in cylinder 1, turned out to be faulty plug leads, most likely damaged 6 weeks earlier when i had a non MB service carried out on it as you need to pull the leads off a certain way to avoind damage.

mmmmm but they shouldnt have been near my leads if im right ,

so could be a sensor
airmass sensor
or a doggy lead

anything else so i can tell my thick headed cousin

you need to get the error codes read as SAM and TV already said, they will point youi in the right direction. I think if its the MAF, then disconnect it, if it runs worse, then the MAF was working fine

Mass air flow meter, you need the fault codes read now mate
