Couldn't find anything on this with a search but i have had the same problem on both my TE's.
The cabin becomes very noisy sounding like there is a hole through the firewall . When we changed the engine mounts it transformed the car. Now it has happened on my 1998 TD so is this a known problem? I have never had this on any other car i have owned.

Just be interested in any feedback.

Thanks

Freddy

eng mounts

hello chaps.
yeah its a common problem. mercedes engine mounts are indeed oil filled units!! over time the rubber softens, fluid leaks away leaving the sump sitting on the front anti roll bar!!
there ya have it.

£40-£50 each from euro car parts. Better quality than GSF.

Thanks for the feedback and the mounts are now £59.99 from Euro car parts but i know when fitted they will make the car a lot quieter.

Now i' ve just got to sort out the rust!!!
