I need a new engine mount for my 190D 2.5, merc have quoted me £65 quid for one, they are half that price from GSF or eurocarparts, but they only list the one type, and the eurocarparts one refers to the 102 (petrol) engine. Am I correct in assuming that there are different mounts for petrol and diesel engines (I remember reading something on here to that effect a while ago)? If so, could anyone point me to a supplier or will I just have to splash out to merc, or fit a generic factor part?

Thanks very much,
Hibbo

Is that definitely only one? I just bought a pair for my ML, and it cost me less than that for two from the main dealers.

Yep, pretty sure, unless they are sold as pairs by Merc? I rang the parts dept at the local Merc place, gave the bloke the chassis number and asked for a price for an engine mount, maybe the pair are counted as a single item on their computer system?

I have a 124 300d '92 with a 603 engine. It has two engine mounts, each £65.00 each from main dealer. It also has a transmission mount as well and this cost £33.00. Don't know if yours is the same, but i would have thought they cost them as single units and not pairs.

Don’t buy your mounts from GSF they will only sell you the petrol mounts, and telling you they are all the same for the 190 at a cost of £17 I fitted 1 to my 190 and after 1,000miles I got the vibration back again when I phoned GSF at there head office I was told they did not do a mounting for the 190 diesel range. if I remember correctly I got mine for my 190 2.0 diesel from euro car parts I think they were abut £45 each My engine is a 601 where as the 2.5D is a 602 so there may be a difference in the mountings

Thanks for the replies, I have just checked the eurocarparts website, and entering my vehicle type as 190d 2.5 or 190e 2.0 it lists the same engine mounts (ser no 337220650) for both, leading me to assume that as GSF, they only sell petrol engine mounts.

Can anyone suggest another supplier, or do non-merc diesel engine mounts simply not exist? (Nah, they must do!)

RedD, Can you let me know which main dealer you got yours from, I'll give them a bell, you never know!
