I have a 1974 200D and unfortunately it died on me recently. The engine needs to be completely replaced!
The problem i have is in identifying the engine number which doesn't appear to be on the engine itself.
The chassis number is 11511510263123
I have looked on the internet with no luck.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Cheers,
SL

I have a 200D engine in the garage. As I recall the book 0 to 60 was 24 seconds and a top speed of 83mph though I did get it to 96 once. The engine was rebuilt with new cylinder liners. Engine sounds great. Stoped using the car when the parents went abroad. Bodywork became to rusty to bother doing anything with. Saved a few bits such as engine and gearbox
