Hi, I am new to this site and I’m a first time Mercedes owner.

Which engine oil should I use for my "C220 SE ED 125 CDI BLUEEF-CY" 2011 model. I have only zero knowledge about the cars, especially about mercedes. But I love it. So please help me by suggesting the authorised one.

Thank you all

Mercedes do everything by spec, assuming you have a DPF fitted you will need an oil that either meets the MB 229.31 or BMW 229.51 depending on your service interval and 0w-30 or 5w-30 for the viscosity.

Cheers,

Guy.

Thank you guy for your help. So I can use any brand of oil that meets this criteria. Right?

Hi All,

Oil change time again for me. MB oil is reasonably priced on eBay from maindealers for around £40 for 6ltrs.
Anyone used Castrol edge 5-30 LL?
It's currently good price in my local Costco.
Says it meets 229.51 spec.
What other brands if any do you guys use?

Thanks

MB of Newcastle do genuine Mercedes branded oils at a very reasonable price on eBay.

The thought of an oil shower has turned me right off.

Butter however.
