 My new c200k from time to time stall the engine at low rev, mostly when i am waiting at the trafic ligh or when i take a turn.
I took it to my dealer and the computer did not detected no faults but at that time the engine was running fine.
Some times when I'm in a red lght waiting I can see the rev counter jumping from 800 to 500 revs intermittently regadless if I'm in neutral or drive :x
Could this be the free petrol tank that the dealer gave me or is it a faulty fuel pump.
Next time it append I will try to drive to my dealer while the fault is present and hopely they will diagnose the problem.
Apart from that ,I'm verry please with it :p

E200K stalling

Most likley cause is air mass metre and this doesn't always produce a fault code

:D Thank you for your reply m8 8)
I took the car to my MB dealer while the fault was present and he said that a major fault like this sould be recorded on the car memory.
The car is booked for Monday morning, but I will pass your suggestion.
By the way ,I noticed that when the fault is present if i remouve the petrol cap for few seconds, after a minute the engine is running fine for about 45 minutes. :!:
Do'es this relate to your suggestion :?:

Thanks again for your suggestion Piestore,
I toock the car to my dealer while the fault was present,
He told me that he cleared all the fault in the car memory
and had to reset the engine management computer, he told me that EMC control the engine idling speed and there is not external adjustment that can be done.
Since then the engine is working fine but he told me that if the same fault come back again , he will replace the EMC,but since each EMC is coded individually , it got to come from Germany , so it will take about four days, which is not bad, but up to now every think is perfect.

The engine ecu on this model is MESFI and although there is no manual adjustment of engine speed an MB garage can enter the ecu software and increase engine tickover while in drive or while in nuetral if you Technician is unaware of this the procedure is as follows.

Drive
MESFI
control unit adaptations
correction values
adjust engine speed

this should only take a few minutes but they will probabley need the car for half a day
