entering radio code procedure

i have E240 (year 2000). how do you enter the code for the radio, i have recently disconnected the battery..It is a mercedes benz audio 10 radio cd player Alpine Becker

Enter the numbers by pressing the number buttons on the right, then press and hold the centre button on the right until the radio activated.

If no numbers then, turn the knob on the right press once to move to the next number then press and hold the knob when finnished until its activated.
