CDI 220
Hi,I own a W reg (2000) cdi220 and the EPC light has come on,plugged into diagnostic machine and it says the fault is the fuel cut off solenoid. So replaced with new, EPC light went out but as soon as ignition was turned off then on again the EPC came back on saying it was the same problem as before. Checked the new part and has full current running through it. So stuck now, please help.
Many thanks Iain.

im not sure on the set up for the shut off solenoid on these engines but given what ive learned from life with older diesels (im sure someone will tell me if im wrong) could this be a possible fault with the crank sensor? (not giving correct signals to shut off solenoid)

not come across this one on a cdi yet. you have ruled out the obvious, a full fault code trigger description would help but the das/wis is at work. it may be a current monitoring feature of the ecu signaling the shut off valve fault. could well be a tricky one this, we would be connecting das and going from there so tricky to advise without the vehicle. always worth checking for rodent damage on the loom though, they seem to love getting under the covers on cdi engines and munching away - chewed anything or stash of seeds etc is a sure sign.

Hi,
Sorry for using this old thread, but I have the same problem with my cdi 220-99 now. Did you solve the problem?
