If you have an electric motor rewinder in the area or maybe a power tool repairer, auto-electrician then they may have something for you.
I am sorry for not realising your problem was accessing the brushes after i mentioned brushes were the likely problem.

No worries
If I could have figured it out how to get into the guts I would have solved my problem earlier
I've ordered a set of brushes so I will see how I get on.
The fan seemed to change between speeds ok with my botched repair so the diagnosis of brushes was bang on.
Once I've solved this problem it's back to the long list of remedial jobs to bring the car back to full health

Cheers

My problem is now solved.
The brushes came quickly but needed sanding to fit the motor.
I reused the old regulator as it wasn't at fault so I now have a spare.
I even used 1/2 a can of EZ Chill to top up the AC
Both are working fine even if AC engineers don't approve of the method.
My reason for using it was I still had pressure so it must be a slight leak.
Ezc has a leak sealer and lube as well as refrigerant so worth a go just to see

I hope the OP has solved their problem too
