Erratic starting 1995 E220 W124

Hi chaps just taken delivery of my dream car an E220 w124 cabrio and it won't start!! It wouldn't start yesterday then did after locking +unlocking it.Sometimes it will start then suddenly cut off afer 3 secs.Has fuel and when it runs its perfect.AA man came said either ECU crankshaft position senser but needs expert look.I know this can happen on the E220 ,I checked out a search but it was closed.The car is 47000 miles.Also are the brakes noisy on the Cabriolet? they seem very noisy with the roof up .any advice gladly taken ,just got rid of a troublefree w123

Right now the crankshaft sensor is the in thing to change,dont know why but there has been loads of them this last few weeks, its easy to change and not expensive and has cured most of them.
