Exhaust quote

Hi, i wonder if anyone could help. I have a SLK 200 Auto, year 2000, which is an import. I have a problem with my exhaust and have been told i need a whole new exhaust at which the cost will be £1400.
Does anyone know if this is about right or where i could maybe go to get Mercedes parts?
I live in the middlesex area

The front section the holding braket has broken away from the manifold, the center section has a small hole and the rear section is heavily corroded

For the parts try Euro Parts I believe they are good and provide genuine mercedes parts but cheaper than main dealer.
Best to see an independent in your area, no doubt somebody will be able to tell you later

Weld the bracket.

Weld the hole.

Get a new rear section.

Done.

for that kind of money you can get a custom stainless steel one , im visiting www.mijperformance.com on 3rd dec , ill post piccys of the job they do on mine when i get back . if moneys an issue do as 'blackC55' says , but if you want a fit and forget system then stainless is the way to go these days imo

For that money you could have a full system made and stainless so no more worries.

Even euro carparts or similar would be much cheaper?

I would go with BlackC55's suggestion, I had the bracket re-welded on my previous E-Class. After market exhausts don't always sound very good or are close to the OE MB for quality.
