Does anyone know which is the correct setting on the adjustable resistor swith near the ECU on a 190E 2.0? My car is set to position no.1

There are 6 settings on the switch, the Haynes manual only gives the setting for the 2.6 engine. Which is no.3 for normal unleaded fuel.

Also, there is another adjustable swith for the EZL system located on the nearside inner wing. This has 2 distinct positions "S" and "N" which setting is the correct one ?

all the info you need is on page 125 of the owner's manual which comes with the car-the setting depends on whether your car has a catalytic conveter or not.

about the one behind the wing,i do not know.

mine which is 190e-1.8-93 model-the setting is the S(=4) mark is set pointing to the M mark as per the manual-it is the same for the 190e-2 litre car as per the owner's manual providing it has a catalytic converter and is running on unleaded fuel-

Thanks for that. Unfortunately I can not refer to the owners manual as there wasn't one with the car. Any suggestions on where I can pick one up at a reasonable price ?

I think it depends on the age of the car. Early cars didn't have it and I think you have to adjust the distributor position per normal with a timing light - ie no electro-trickery. N

1993 White / Grey 190E 2.0 Auto , 17" RC01 alloys , 215 40 17 rubber , clear rear clusters , clear indicators and repeaters , stainless rear box , 40mm drop , K&N replacement element , EcoTek valve , rattling Cat , real bad Idle problems

just to let u know if your car still idles badly that those ecotek valves are often the problem as there basically a hole in the inlet manifold , if there set up wrong they cause all sorts of probs, dont adjust it by ear like in the instructions , use a bit of toilet paper , it allows much finer tuning
