Hi folks

I have a CLK230 Kompressor. I had the common problem where oil was contaminating the MAF due to the breather nozzles being blocked. I've now cleaned them out and replaced pretty much every hose for both the high and part load breathing systems. The majority of the intake system has been cleaned out too.

A couple of times recently though I've had the Check Engine light come on. Each time I've read and reset the code, which is 410 - Secondary Air Injection Malfunction. It's happened twice now (a week apart). My first thought is a sticking EGR valve although I'm not sure if this is the case (or indeed where the EGR is on my car). Anyone know if this is the likely culprit?

I called into my local stealership and they couldn't even find the part!
If it is the EGR valve, does anyone happen to have the correct MB part no so I can point these 'experts' in the right direction!!! ;)

I think the part you are after is the secondary air injection valve located at the back of the engine.

You need this part, number 38 with seal ring 41 in the bottom picture. its the check vale and they clog up, quite common.

http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...GM=717.460&CT=M&cat=19K&SID=09&SGR=100&SGN=02

You will find it at the back top of the engine on the right of the head.

Just as a follow up, I've bought a new valve. Anybody fitted one of these before?

I've had a look and the access to it is tight to say the least. The integral nut on the valve is 27mm and I can see no way of getting a spanner of that size in such a tight space. Wondering if it it requires a strip down of the whole throttle body area to gain access. Spoke to a MB tech when I was buying the part and he told me that fitting it was a nightmare! :(
