Hello brethren,

I hope its been a better day for you all. Yes being stuck in traffic is quite frustrating, but being stuck in traffic and then the engine fault warning light shows up is rather teething. I've had quick look in the owners guide, the answer was ( fault with the ignition system or injection system or exhaust system; if not all). The C180 still starts well and drives well. Now my big question is "what has happened?"

I am very grateful of your help!!

It didn't die at all. The light just came on and stayed for the day. I switched the engine off and on - all feels and sounds good to me.

THis often happens today with the gas that is manufactured with the alcohol. Possibly if the car is running fine and seems to be ok it just may be ok just some false signals from the emissions system or O2 sensors is the light out when you restarted it?

Thanks

the light is still on. I have rebooted the engine a few times but it seems to hang around more than wanted.

And it may not go out any time soon, if it is all the same gas so expect if you filled up to ride it out watch the temp and all to be on the safe side.
