Hi All

Me again, all you regular viewers probably realise by now I am having a lot of fun with my Merc (not)

I have just topped up the final drive as best as I could off ramps, when I stuck my finger in the oil it seemed lumpy not hard lumps but gluepy (if there is such a word). The oil was dark but still had a bit of colour and had what looked like white bubble in it, the drive is leaking from the front seal. How bad who knows a little oil goes a long way.

Is this normal (not the leak)? Should I change the oil? If so what’s the best to use, SAE 90 the book says but I am wondering if my droning is the final drive so maybe something a bit thicker?

Cheers.

As above but you could include an additive to rejuvenate the seals which might stop the leak.
