You really are talking a lot of crap aren't you. You really should read the original post. The seller is selling for less than is owed to the finance house .....

That's right.

So the buyer settles the finance in full and gets the difference back from the seller.

It ain't rocket science.

Ok then Gkinghorn.

Say you sell me a car for £20,000.

I agree to buy it from you and you agree to settle the finance.

You pay off the £20,000 and then I turn around and say "I have changed my mind. I am going to buy something else."

You happy now?
In the hypothetical situation you describe :

On the basis I intend to sell the car I need to pay off the finance anyway ..the fact you don't want to buy it just means I need to find another buyer which is easy enough given it has no outstanding HP on it...

The way you describe this it seems apparent you as the purchaser has no intention of buying the car in the first place and you've just been messing the buyer about ...

You know you really don't get the fact that there are other ways to do this than yours... You really are the one who is being incredibly narrow minded and ignorant here..

Quite honestly you are bang out of order...

.... too many cars!

Which brings me back to my original point .... you assume the seller HAS the money to do that.

The vendor is trying to sell a car which does not belong to him. He does not have clear title. That is fraud. Any other scenarios concerning third parties paying each other off are hypothetical, and fraught with risk and hassle. I repeat. Walk away. Find a car which actually belongs to the vendor. There are plenty out there.

Sorry that is nonsense.

Complete and utter nonsense.

If the seller was to sell the car and pocket the cash it is fraud, but that is a completely different matter.

As I said, this thread is full of crap.

Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion - I will always support that.

However - a particularly aggressive series of posts - maybe time to step back, take 5 and see your posts from the perspective of the other posters?

A summary:

God there's some crap being spouted in this thread.
What a croc of ****e.
This thread just stinks of ignorance.
Let's see if your next round of advice actually makes some sense....this time.
As I said, this thread is full of crap.

My view is.... don't rush into anything... take your time.... if the car is meant to be yours it will wait for you and all will be right.... and pose no financial risk!!.... so hope so as you sound like you have set your heart on it!! xx : :)

No not really.

Read back through it and you will see that each of my comments is based on truth, not opinion.

More than happy for you to show me where my comments are not 'true'.

Err where you quoted 90% of cars have HP on them when being bought and I told you NONE of the cars I had bought had that.. Is that just luck or does it debunk the 'truth' as per your statement. If I misunderstood what you meant and you really did mean
90% of the cars in this country may well HAVE HP on them then i wont disagree but just not when they are sold. There is a difference.

After that it was simply a discussion about your way of buying this versus others and you seemed unable to grasp there is more than one way to do this and that others did not share your opinion that your way was the best way ..that is an entirely subjective assertion and is not a truth that your way is the right way..in your opinion your way is best .. In my opinion it isn't.... I don't have an issue with that but you clearly do for some bizarre reason I don't get...

Stand by it. Amazed at the crap in coming from posters on here.

What a croc of ****e.
It was.

This thread just stinks of ignorance.

Again, I stand by what I said, just so many ignorant views being put across.

Let's see if your next round of advice actually makes some sense....this time.

This was in response to this...

As I said, this thread is full of crap.

Again, my response to the opinionated crap coming from people.
Fair enough if it was truthful, but it wasn't, it was based on ignorance.

I am amazed at the amount of ignorance in this thread.

See all of the above.

Go in then, point out, where I am actually wrong with anything I have said.

I don't normally give a **** when people post nonsense on forums, but this is a big decision for someone and everything posted so far is just nonsense.
