Hi I need to know the firing order of the 5ltr V8 126 (500SE) engine.

I also need to know the orintation of the distributor cap (ei which is No1)
What is the Piston layout of the engine.

If you haven't taken the leads of the Distributor you should find the number of each on a small piece of wrap around plastic possibly at both ends of the lead.
If you have removed the leads without noting them - eeeeeeeK!

What is the engine reference number as per your log book?

Don't want to be responsible for giving you incorrect data.
Will have to go out into the night air to discover if I can read my own.

Found the detail in the Handbook.
If the engine is a 126 036
the firing order is 1/5/4/8/6/3/7/2

You presumeably want to know which is 1 and in which direction to go around the Dist cap.

I'll have to look.

Yes and Thanks I'm assuming it's clockwise . I assume it's going to be the same as the 450 V8 1 at the front of drivers side and 5 at passenger side (although I could be wrong)

1 2 3 4 (Drivers side)
5 6 7 8 (Passenger side)

Not a clue to engine code (where do I find this ? haven't received the log book)

Any help is appreciated. Email is charlotte.windsor00@ntlworld.com
