Firing Order V230 Help!

does anyone know where the no.1 cylinder is on a V230 ..111 engine ..Is there a way of checking the timing without taking the rocker cover off..as it requires removal of the carb..

No 1 is at the end of the pulleys.

Can't think of a way to check valve timing without removing the rocker cover.
